A special note to our family and friends:
We are so grateful for all of the emails, texts, and calls telling us that you care, you are praying for us and you want to help us with our needs. We apologize that we have been out of touch lately. We are putting all of our time and energy into ensuring that we are getting the best care for our girls. The stress is sometimes overwhelming and we often only have time to talk with each other. Many of you have asked how you can help us during our journey, especially as we soon embark on the transplant road for Eden. There are a few things, and please know that we hesitated putting this information on our blog as it might appear that we’re “asking” for something more than prayers but after much urging from friends and family we decided to post it one time here.
So below are some ways that you can help if you so desire:
We will face many challenges throughout the next few months and one of those may be finding financial resources for extra expenses like flights to TX, meals in TX and other unexpected costs. Because of this Scott’s sister has offered to set up a secure bank account. Read below if you’re interested:
Hi everyone who follows Scott and Amanda’s blog, I am Scott’s sister and aunt to their two precious babies Reagan and Eden. I love all of them with all my heart and want to help them in any way that I am able during the next few months when Eden will be facing lung transplant. Scott and Amanda may require funds to cover additional expenses in Texas. If you are willing to donate to them, please email me at hedinfund@gmail.com or simply contact the bank at the address listed:

Our circle of friends has expanded to include those with children who are also medically fragile like our girls, below is a post from one of those people. Shelly has so generously offered to coordinate a way for us to get meals. Read below if you’re interested:
If you are reading this blog, you are faithfully following the Hedin's journey as a family and praying for Reagan and Eden. As people that love and support this sweet family, I'm sure a lot of you are looking for a practical way to help Amanda and Scott through this incredibly challenging time. I have set up a Meal Train where you can sign up to bring them a meal or send a gift card to a favorite restaurant. If you are interested in signing up, please email me at escarlsonfam@gmail.com and I will send you the link.

Finally, Scott’s mom will be coordinating a benefit to be held in or near Scott’s home town. To help and to get more details please read below.
A benefit will be hosted by Scott’s family and held shortly. Please email hedinfund@gmail.com for more information.

Delta has a direct flight to Houston that is really good. Sign up for sky miles go to delta.com this is who we have been using it is about a 3 hour flight. With a layover they can get to be 5 hours and longer.
ReplyDeleteAlso http://houstongroundangels.org/ they will give you rides to and from the airport to help save money blue van is about $30 and a taxi is $50
We have used them once so far and they have been awesome it is all volunteers and they will not except anything in return.
A suggestion that we did we set up skype accounts so that we could web cam back and forth. Texas Children’s has wireless for you to use and so does the Ronald McDonald house. It will help you so you can see your husband and your baby girl at home and he can see both of you in Texas. The girls will recognize your voices and look for the laptop when they hear you talking.
If you have any other questions please ask. I am hoping for good news tomorrow it is Wednesday I remember waiting for those Wednesday meetings.

Its never easy or fun to ask for help but thank you for telling us how we can do this for you during this tough stage of life. Help will be coming on its way and I pray that God will show you both the generosity of the world and of his people! We miss you two a lot in small group, but its clear that you needed to be home taking care of your family!
