A baby who doesn't nap = a crabby baby. She's in a "phase" (we hope its just a phase) where she doesn't like to nap. She screams when we put her in her crib and fights it to the bitter end. This lack of napping affects the rest of her day, she doesn't want to eat and she fusses a lot. So the question is- how do we get her to nap?!
We're also having trouble with more vomiting due to her reflux. It's frustrating because her weight is plateauing and gaining weight is so important for her lung health. We will be switching her formula soon so we're hoping this will help. And it certainly isn't easy on the laundry load.
Besides these issues, she is doing well. Crawling everywhere, pulling herself to standing, crawling up stairs- she is SO busy. She puts everything in her mouth and makes lots of fun sounds. We LOVE our little scooty so much!!!!
She is adorable and I can't believe the hair she has! She's ready for a ponytail. :)
ReplyDeleteShe looks so much like you in the last photo! Wow!
ReplyDelete...have you tried donor milk to help with her reflux?
Look at all that beautiful hair! God bless her!
ReplyDeleteI presume you've already tried this . . . but do you have a Sleep Sheep or some other "white noise" toy by her crib?
Hi Amanda! We have to chat soon, but two thoughts on the nap and reflux. She may likely be teething and it gets harder to tell as they get more mobile and won't let you in their mouth. Our Kate completely loses her appetite when teething and our doctors told us with our older child that teething makes their reflux worse too. Our kids' weight has pretty much stalled out since 14 or 15 months and they are already 20 months, so try not to worry about that too much. Easier said than done right! :)And sadly, 1/2 of kids are on one nap by 18 months, so she could be flirting with one nap on some days! We have had to start holding ours out a little even though they could use the morning nap on some days, but then Kate only takes an hour nap and doesn't go down in afternoon. So, maybe even playing out on the driveway or on the deck since the weather is still sort of decent (but away from other people) until 11 am or 12pm. They are crabby the last hour, but being outside it is usually easier for all to handle. Mine have seemed to go down much easier then a sleep for a good couple hours! Sara Baker (Lilly :) )
