Saying goodbye

We said goodbye to our sweet baby Eden today. She fought so hard and was so brave during the last 8 months, but she was too sick. Jesus welcomed her into heaven today where there are no ventilators, trachs or medications. Instead she is perfectly healthy with pink blankets, green rings and soft socks. We love her more than anything in the world and did everything we could for her. Our hearts are broken and the hole that is left will never be filled. Eden will be a donor so that she can help other babies live long, healthy lives.

Scott and I will be home tomorrow afternoon. We will begin making arrangements then, please simply pray for us right now.

  16. Hi.

I am a friend of Scott's -- I know him from Optum. Every week, when I'd check in at the front desk, I'd ask about the babies and how they were doing. I am so, so sorry to hear the news of Eden's passing. I know that she was very loved.

Be kind to yourselves during this time.

  43. Wow, I'm so sorry. My wife Jamie is in the MOMs group and I looked over to see her crying as she read this post. We just lost our daughter at 22 weeks gestation this month, and while I certainly can't compare our stillbirth experience with what you're going through, I do know something about that hole in your heart. Actually, Jamie said to me as we lay in bed the night she was born, "We have matching holes in our hearts now."

We're praying for you. We're so sad and so sorry.

  44. I have tears in my eyes for your family. What a beautiful girl Heaven has gained. This poem gave me hope when my close friend passed. I hope it give you some small comfort.

    If tomorrow starts without me,

And I’m not there to see.

If the sun should rise, and find your eyes,

Are filled with tears for me.

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry,

    The way you did today.

While thinking of the many things, we didn’t get to say.

I know how much you loved me,

As much as I love you.

And every time you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too.

But when tomorrow starts without me,

    I hope you’ll understand,

An angel came and called my name and took me by the hand.

She said my place was ready, in heaven up above,

And that I’d have to leave behind, all those I dearly love.

I had so much to live for, so much that I should do,

It seemed almost impossible, that I was leaving you.

I wish I could have said goodbye,

And kissed and seen you smile,

I wish I could have stayed with you even for a little while.

But then I had to realise, that this could never be,

    Now emptiness and memories,

Would take the place of me.

But when I walked through heavens gates,

I felt so much at home,

And then the lord looked down on me, from his golden throne.

He said, “this is for eternity, but I will promise you,

Although your life on earth has passed, here life starts anew”

“I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last,

And since each days the same up here,

There’s no longing for the past”

My loved ones, please don’t grieve for me,

    Cause I am truly free,

And I will wait for you to come and share my life with me.

So when tomorrow starts without me,

    Don’t think we’re far apart,

For every time you think of me,

I’m right here in your heart

    .

  53. Oh Scott and Amanda. My heart is broken and my tears are flowing. I'm so very very sorry. I know there is nothing I can say to ease your pain.

I know your faith is strong and that Eden is in Heaven, finally at peace. That offers comfort, but I know selfishly we want our babies here with us.

Please let me know if there is anything you need. I am here for you at any time - day or night. Even if all you need is a shoulder to cry on.

Eden is a miracle and was such a wonderful gift - even if your time was cut short. I feel blessed to have known her and your family. I know that Liam welcomed her into Heaven with open arms and a smile. I know they are together, but now are healthy and peaceful. They will watch over us and will always know how much we love them. There won't be a day that goes by that Eden won't be in your heart...Liam is always in mine.

My prayers and sympathy are with you during this difficult time. Eden's smile will be one that I'll never forget.

God bless you, Reagan and of course your angel, Eden.
